Gloopies privacy policy
What the Gloopies game stores, what it never collects, and how to delete it.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Gloopies: Pet Island (“Gloopies”, “the game”) is made by Zeeshan Mehdi (“I”, “me”). It is designed for children, so it is built to collect as little as possible and no personal information. This policy explains exactly what the game stores.
What the game never collects
- No names, email addresses, phone numbers or home addresses
- No photos, videos, microphone recordings or contacts
- No precise or approximate location
- No advertising identifiers, and no tracking across other apps or websites
- No chat or free-text messages between players
- No third-party advertising or analytics tools
There is no sign-up and no account to create.
What the game stores
When the game first opens it creates an anonymous player account: a random ID that is not connected to the player, the device owner or any other account. Linked to that random ID, the game stores:
-
Game progress: the player’s Gloopies, Goo, discoveries, decorations, quests and level, so progress is saved.
-
A random nickname and friend code that the game makes up (for example “SquishyTaco87” and “XXFTDV”). Players cannot type their own.
-
Their island for visiting: which Gloopies, hats and decorations are on the island, so friends who know the friend code can visit it.
-
Stickers: when a player sends one of the preset stickers (like ❤️ or ⭐) to another island, the game stores which sticker was sent, when, and the sender’s random nickname.
-
Magic words (optional): if a grown-up creates the 4 “magic words” used to move an island to a new device, only a one-way scrambled version (a hash) is stored, never the words themselves.
Names that players give their Gloopies stay on the device and are never sent to the server or shown to other players.
Reminders are optional and off unless turned on. They are scheduled on the device itself; nothing about them is sent anywhere.
Like most online services, the server may briefly keep technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the service running and secure.
How the information is used
Only to run the game: to save progress, to let friends visit islands, to deliver stickers, to move an island to a new device, and to count, in total, how many players have discovered each Gloopy and how many come back to play on later days. These totals are just numbers; no history of any individual player is kept. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone except the hosting provider below.
Where it is stored
Game data is stored by Supabase, which hosts the game’s server in the European Union (Ireland) on my behalf.
Children’s privacy
Gloopies is made for children and follows the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU and UK GDPR by not collecting personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has somehow shared personal information through the game, contact me and I will delete it.
Deleting data
- Uninstalling the game deletes everything stored on the device.
- To delete the server copy, email me with the island’s friend code (shown in the game under Visit). I will delete the account and all its data within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, I will update this page and the date at the top.
